In questo blog ho scritto dell'importanza dei musei della Resistenza e ho descritto ed eseguito delle riprese fotografiche del museo che sta a Copenaghen. Adesso a pochi giorni prima dell'anniversario della Liberazione della Danimarca (5 May 1945) è successo l'incendio. Non può che dispiacermene. Moltissimo.

Il museo conteneva molti oggetti di valore storico e storiografico: documenti dall'epoca dell'occupazione tedesca della Danimarca dal 1940 al 1945 e della Resistenza del popolo danese.
La maggior parte di questi importanti oggetti di valore storico e storiografico sono stati salvati. Ma per altri importanti oggetti non e' stato possibile.
In totale sono state salvate 600 scatole da trasloco contenenti fotografie, documenti, uniformi e armi. Il che non e' poco.
Il museo userà tecniche speciali per asciugare gli oggetti che sono stati bagnati dall'acqua degli idranti dei vigili del fuoco. I manufatti degradabili e resi bagnati vengono congelati in attesa di essere poi scongelati e restaurati in ambiente idoneo con tecnica adeguata allo scopo.
Nulla degli oggetti più significativi e' andato perduto - dice Jesper Stub Johnsen, responsabile della conservazione.
L'incendio è divampato la notte tra sabato e domenica del 28 aprile. L'allarme è scattato intorno alle ore 01:45 della mattina della stessa domenica . I vigili del fuoco hanno lavorato febbrilmente per 10 ore nel rimuovere tutti gli elementi e il materiale d'archivio dall'edificio.
Si è trattato di un incendio non di poco conto, di un incendio grosso, durato più di trenta ore. Le ultime braci dell' incendio del museo si sono spente lunedì mattina.Le indagini indicano una causa dolosa. Chi potrebbe avere interesse a compiere un atto tanto esecrabile?

In this blog I have written about the importance of museums of the Resistence and I described and photographed the museum in Copenhagen. Now a few days before the anniversary of the liberation of Denmark (5 May 1945) there has been a fire at the museum. This cannot but upset me very much.
The museum contained many valuable items and documents from the German occupation of Denmark in 1940-1945.
Most of the museum's most important valuables were salvaged. Other objects could not be rescued out of the burning building.
A total of 600 boxes of irreplaceable photos, documents, uniforms and weapons have been secured.
The museum will use special techniques to dry the objects that were soaked by the water from the firemens' hoses. The items that cannot be dried quickly will be deep frozen to avoid damage in the meantime.
None of the most valuable objects have been lost - said Jesper Stub Johnsen, Head of Conservation.
The fire began late Saturday evening. The alarm went off around 01:45 on Sunday 28 April. The firemen worked feverishly for 10 hours to remove the archived material from the building
It was a serious fire lasting more than 30 hours. The police now suspect arson. Who could be interested in such a despicable act?
